The Fargesia Robusta is the only red bamboo in the world. This Fargesia is a real exclusive bamboo species that is rarely found in shops. The red colour appears after 2/3 years. The stems turn red by direct sunlight, so the more sunlight, the redder the stems. The stems can reach 2cm in diameter after a few years. Besides its red stems, the Fargesia has beautiful bright green leaves. This Fargesia grows as a compact shrub, with many stems close together and can reach a height of 3 to 4 metres. The stems grow straight up and will hang down a little at the top. Besides the fact that this species is not rampant, it is also hardy to -18 degrees Celsius!
Care The Fargesua Robusta wonder is evergreen, hardy, and non-spreading. The plant desires a place in the sun or semi-shade. In summer and on hot days this plant needs quite a bit of water. A planting distance of 40-60cm is advised if the plant is placed in the open ground.
Size The plants have a height of 25-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 13cm.
