Tulbaghia violacea, also known as wild garlic or society garlic, is a versatile plant for your garden. With its pretty purple flowers emitting a slight garlic scent, it steals the show. Its flowers and stems are edible and have a subtle garlic flavour. Finely chopped, wild garlic is delicious in salads, tzatsiki and other sauces and can even be used as a garlic substitute. In addition, wild garlic attracts butterflies and bees, making for a vibrant garden. Enjoy the beautiful flowers, wonderful fragrance and culinary possibilities offered by the Tulbaghia all year round.
Care Wild garlic prefers a spot in full sun. Depending on how it spends the winter, the plant retains its leaves. When the plant is in a cold and dark spot during winter, it will die off, coming back in April. The plant is hardy in mild climates (down to about -10 degrees). Water the plant regularly. Moisten the soil to the bottom and then wait a few days for the soil to dry before watering again. This will prevent wet feet.
Size The plants have a height of 15-25cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9cm.
