Hydrangea quercifolia ‘Ice Crystal’ is an oakleaf hydrangea. It grows about 150 to 175cm tall and has rich blooms of plume-shaped white flowers. Flowering starts in June and can continue until August. During flowering, the white colour of the flowers changes to soft pink. The leaves have deeply cut edges and have a deep green colour in spring that changes to purple-red in autumn. The hydrangea is deciduous and hardy. The Ice Crystal is just as happy in the open ground as in a large pot, making it perfect for the garden as well as the patio and balcony.
Care Hydrangeas do not like drought and need a lot of water, especially in summer. It is best to give the hydrangea a lot of water at once rather than a little every now and then. It can be planted from March to mid-October, either in the open ground or in an ornamental pot, although it grows best in the open ground. When planting, keep a distance of 75 cm between plants. Pruning the plant is best done in March, about 30 cm above the ground. The harder you prune back the hydrangea, the larger the flowers will grow.
Size The plant has a height of 25-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plant is supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
