Galanthus Elwesii, better known as Greater Snowdrop or Turkish Snowdrop, is one of the best-known early-flowering bulbs and will be the first plant to bring your garden back to life after the grey winter. The Galanthus Elswesii is native to Turkey, but is also found in Greece and other Balkan countries. The Greater Snowdrop blooms at the first signs of spring. This means that the lovely, white flowers can appear be as early as Christmas! However, the general flowering period is February - March. The Greater Snowflake can grow up to about 15cm. The bulbs can be planted between September and November.

Care
The snowflake likes to stand in a nutrient-rich soil that never dries out. It prefers drained and humus-rich and a calcareous soil. It likes to stand in partial shade, but make sure there is enough sun during its growing period. You can plant the bulbs in the fall. Plant them at a depth of about 10cm and spaced 8cm apart.
