Alocasia ‘Portodora’, also known as elephant ear, is native to the tropics of Asia. This Alocasia has large, impressive green leaves with ribbed edges. One new leaf grows straight up from the core of the plant each time, then unfolds and sinks down. As a result, both the height and width of the plant vary constantly. Keep in mind that the Alocasia needs quite some space and put the houseplant in a place where it can grow both in height and width.

Care
The Alocasia prefers a bright spot without direct sunlight. It is advisable to turn the houseplant a quarter turn every now and then so that it does not grow only in one direction. Make sure the potting soil is always slightly moist. It is important that the roots do not stand in water to prevent root rot. It is best to give the Alocasia a little water every day, rather than a large amount of water all at once.

On delivery, the plant has a height of 80-90cm, measured including the nursery pot. The plant comes in a 21 cm diameter nursery pot.
