Alocasia ‘Lauterbachiana’, also known as elephant ear, is native to the tropics of Asia. This Alocasia has long serrated leaves with a beautiful green colour and a dark red underside, distinguishing it from other members in the Alocasia family. Keep in mind that the Alocasia needs quite a bit of space and put the houseplant in a spot where it can grow in both height and width.

Care
The Alocasia prefers a bright spot without direct sunlight. It is advisable to turn the houseplant a quarter turn every now and then so that it does not grow only in one direction. Make sure the potting soil is always slightly moist. It is important that the roots do not stand in water to prevent root rot. It is best to give the Alocasia a little water every day, rather than a large amount of water all at once.

On delivery, the plant has a height of 80-90cm, measured including the nursery pot. The plant comes in a 19 cm diameter nursery pot.
