Sambucus nigra 'Black Lace', a dark-leaved elderberry, blooms with beautiful pink-white umbels in the period June-July. The flowers are very popular for butterflies and bees. After flowering, Sambucus nigra 'Black Lace' forms dark berries which can be used to make elderberry wine or jam, for example. The dried blossom can be used to make herbal tea. When the leaves are just emerging they are still green, but soon they turn a darker colour.

Care
Sambucus nigra 'Black Lace' is not demanding in terms of location and can grow up to 250 cm high. However, this deciduous ornamental shrub can easily be pruned back to the desired height. Moreover, the Sambucus is hardy. Water the shrubs regularly to keep the soil moist. This way you can enjoy its beautiful flowers and berries!

The plants have a height of 25-40cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 17cm.
