Cyclamen persicum, also known as the Persian cyclamen, is a beautiful flowering plant with striking, graceful flowers. This popular cyclamen species thrives both indoors and outdoors, bringing colour and elegance. It may look fragile, but the cyclamen is a strong bloomer that emerges from a sturdy tuber. The green leaves are heart-shaped and often have beautiful silver-grey or light green markings. Between the leaves, thin stems coil out from which come frenzied flowers that stand upright like flags. This cyclamen is also great on the balcony or in the garden, for example in a pretty border. As the plants are semi-hardy, we recommend protecting them in severe frost. These beautiful and festive red cyclamen are an asset to your garden or windowsill.
Care Cyclamen persicum requires moderate care. A good location and regular sips of water will go a long way. Do not place or hang your cyclamen in a too warm or sunny spot, i.e. not above a heater or in full sun, they prefer cooler than warmer places. The ideal temperature for the plant is 15 degrees. Don't plant them too close together; a little air between the leaves is more pleasant. In summer, a cyclamen likes a sip of water every day. In winter, you don't need to water as often. Make sure the soil is always slightly moist.
Preferably do not pour on the flowers or leaves while watering, but point your watering can directly at the soil. Dipping the plastic pot for half an hour and then letting it drain is even better. Do not put the plant back in the ornamental pot until the cyclamen is completely drained. The tubers of this plant contain substances that are toxic.
Size The plants have a height of 10-20cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 9cm.
