Acer palmatum Emerald Lace is a beautiful Japanese Maple. The deeply dissected foliage of Acer palmatum ‘Emerald Lace’ bursts into life in spring with its bright, lime green colouring. As summer approaches, the leaves become edged with red for a striking contrast. Finally, in autumn the foliage takes on a red-orange hue before falling to the ground. With such vibrant seasonal interest, this maple is the perfect small garden tree.

Care
Acers are quiet growers, so they remain compact trees. This allows you to grow them in a pot or smaller garden as well. Japanese Maples are best planted from March to early November. During this period, the soil is warmer and the plants can take root well. Japanese Maples are strong plants but in a windy location the leaves can be damaged. Therefore, put Acers in a sheltered place. The plants prefer a spot in semi-shade, preferably not too much direct sunlight. Too much direct sunlight can cause the roots to dry out which can lead to leaf loss and can burn the leaves. Japanese Maples are not evergreen, meaning they lose their leaves in winter. However, the plants are very hardy and will sprout again with beautiful new leaves starting in March.

Size
The plants have a height of 60-70cm upon delivery, measured including the nursery pot. The plants are supplied in a nursery pot with a diameter of 19cm.
